Bold color.
Historic character.
Josabeth's quinceañera session was an opportunity to create something dramatic. Her maroon dress brought rich color into a setting filled with historic architecture, texture and character.
Instead of looking for a traditional quinceañera backdrop, we used the architecture around us — the walls, openings, lines and darker details — as part of the photographs.
That's one of our favorite parts of creating these sessions. The location doesn't have to tell us what the photograph should look like. We can take what is already there and turn it into something that feels completely different for her.
The setting doesn't have to be perfect.
Old architecture. Dark corners. Unexpected textures. A location that might look ordinary to someone else can become completely different through light, composition and perspective. Sometimes the places that aren't obvious give us the most interesting photographs.
